The Wekeromse Zand is a unique nature reserve, known for its vast, living drifting sand dunes. It is one of the few places in the Netherlands where the wind still freely shapes and moves the sand. Alongside its impressive sand planes, you can enjoy walks through a varied landscape of coniferous and broadleaf forests, as well as open heathland.

You will have a great time in the heart of the Veluwe.  Nature at National Park De Hoge Veluwe is overwhelming and inviting for long bicycling and hiking trips. The various landscapes offer an unparalleled diversity of plant and animal species. Search for the rare pearl butterfly or the impressive red deer. 

The Ginkelse Heide is a beautiful, vast heathland near Ede that is rich in both history and nature. The area is best known for its sheepfold, where you can still often see the shepherd with his flock. In late summer, the entire landscape turns deep purple, creating a truly breathtaking sight.

The area around the park is perfect for beautiful walks and bike rides. From the park, you can walk or cycle right into nature and enjoy the variety of forests, vast heathlands, and sand drifts. Mountain bikers will also find challenging trails for every skill level around the park.

In the Kröller-Müller Museum you'll find the most beautiful Vincent van Gogh collection, as well as masterpieces from art icons such as Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, and Piet Mondriaan. In the sculpture garden you'll find sculptures by Barbara Hepworth, Jean Dubuffet, and Marta Pan. 

For a day of swimming, head to Swimming Pool De Peppel in Ede. This modern indoor pool offers swimming fun for the whole family, including a leisure pool, a slide, and a toddler area for the little ones.

Discover a unique wildlife park in Apeldoorn dedicated entirely to the world of primates. At Apenheul, you'll walk through a woodland setting where hundreds of monkeys roam freely among the visitors. Barneveld is a charming and historic village with a surprisingly complete center. It is nationally known for its rich history in poultry farming, but nowadays, it is primarily a very attractive place to visit. You will find a fine selection of independent fashion boutiques, specialty shops, and excellent hospitality establishments there.

Arnhem is the vibrant capital of Gelderland and has a rich history. The city is known for its cozy city center filled with historic buildings, outdoor cafés and a wide range of shops, where you’ll find both major retail chains and unique boutiques in the well-known Modekwartier. Arnhem also has plenty of green space to offer, with beautiful city parks such as Park Sonsbeek. 

Apeldoorn is a large city with a very green character. The history of the city is closely linked to the royal family, which shows instantly in the beautiful wide streets and the parks. In addition to the extensive shopping center, Apeldoorn offers a wide range of culture and lively restaurant squares.
